Overview

Bawso is the lead organisation in Wales providing practical and emotional support to black minority ethnic (BME) and migrant victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, human trafficking, Female Genital Mutilation and forced marriage.

We are seeking to appoint for the following position:

What you will be doing:

To assist families who are unable to speak English to communicate with Bawso staff, and staff from other agencies in their first language.

Type of vacancy: self-employed

Responsibilities / Qualifications

  • Candidates must be able to speak English and another language or languages fluently.
  • You must hold, or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and signup to the DBS Update service.
  • You must be willing to attend one of our offices in Wales to verify your ID documents in person.

Rates

Internal Interpreters Rates:

  • Face to Face
  • Β£25.00 First Hr – 2 nd Hr onwards Β£16p/h (Time threshold – 1 hour minimum, then adjusted to nearest 15 mins)
  • Telephone
  • Β£25.00 First Hr – 2 nd Hr onwards Β£16p/h (No minimum time – adjusted to nearest 15 mins)
  • Travel Expenses
  • Actual receipts and 0.40P per mile (Bus, Train, own car)

External – Trading Arm

  • Face 2 Face and Telephone
  • Β£25.00 First Hr – 2nd Hr onwards Β£16p/h (Time threshold – 1 hour minimum, then adjusted to nearest 15 mins)
  • Travel expense
  • Actual receipts and 0.40P per mile (Bus, Train, own car)
