Bauhaus Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Data Cabling Engineer to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering works within a live data centre environment in Slough. This is an excellent opportunity to work on long-term projects involving structured cabling installations, network infrastructure upgrades and critical IT environments.
Responsibilities
- Installation, termination and testing of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A and fibre optic cabling.
- Installation of containment including basket, tray, trunking and conduit.
- Rack building, patching and labelling to customer specifications.
- Cable dressing and management within data halls and communications rooms.
- Installation and testing of copper and fibre infrastructure.
- Reading and interpreting drawings and cable schedules.
- Working safely within live operational environments.
- Producing accurate test results and completion documentation.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and housekeeping.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Data Cabling Engineer.
- Experience working within data centres or other critical environments.
- Competent terminating and testing copper cabling systems.
- Fibre installation experience advantageous.
- ECS/CSCS Card.
- IPAF beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
