You'll be joining the Legal & Governance team at Bauer Media UK, a collaborative team of legal professionals supporting some of the UK's most recognised audio and publishing brands. The team works closely with stakeholders across our Audio and Publishing businesses, helping ensure great content, commercial partnerships and audience experiences are delivered responsibly and compliantly.

Our audio business reaches over 23 million listeners each week through brands including Absolute Radio, Magic Radio, KISS, Planet Rock, Jazz FM, Hits Radio and Greatest Hits Radio. Alongside this, our publishing portfolio includes some of the UK's most iconic magazine brands, engaging passionate audiences every day.

Working as part of a six-person legal team, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of commercial, media and regulatory matters while supporting colleagues across the business.

As our Corporate & Commercial Paralegal, you'll play an important role in supporting the legal requirements of our Audio and Publishing divisions, helping to keep projects moving, managing risk and enabling our teams to deliver engaging content and experiences to audiences across the UK.

No two days will be the same. From supporting commercial contracts and intellectual property matters to assisting with data protection, broadcasting regulation and legal operations, you'll be at the heart of a fast-paced and varied legal function. This role offers excellent exposure to media, entertainment, publishing and digital content, providing an outstanding platform for professional growth.

Your Role

As Corporate & Commercial Paralegal, you will provide legal and administrative support across a broad range of commercial, governance and regulatory matters within Bauer's Audio and Publishing businesses.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Acting as a first point of contact for routine legal enquiries, including managing and allocating work that comes into the legal email inbox.
  • Supporting reporting activities, invoice processing and legal spend management.
  • Assisting with intellectual property records and company secretarial activities.
  • Supporting the legal team with contract reviews, mark-ups, execution processes and document management.
  • Assisting with contract renewals, variations, extensions and terminations.
  • Reviewing and proofreading legal agreements and documentation.
  • Supporting prize promotions, competition terms and winner documentation.
  • Coordinating responses to intellectual property infringement matters and content complaints.
  • Assisting with trade mark and brand protection activities.
  • Supporting GDPR and data protection matters, including data processing agreements and data subject rights requests.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing practical guidance for stakeholders.
  • Assisting with broadcasting and advertising regulatory matters, including compliance with Ofcom and ASA regulations.

The Skills You Will Bring

Essential

  • Undergraduate Law degree and/or postgraduate legal qualification (LPC, PGDL, LLM or equivalent).
  • Some familiarity with legal documentation and terminology.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality work.
