The Focus of the Role:
You’ll lead content creation and curation across Parkers.co.uk and Car Magazine, driving reach and commerce performance. Working closely with an Editor, you’ll manage CoCo writers and collaborate with editorial teams to deliver the digital strategy.
Key responsibilities include growing the Autos Content Commerce portfolio, overseeing recruitment and development of your team, and supporting peak trading periods. Familiarity with car ownership, accessories, and related lifestyle topics is ideal, along with strong subbing skills and confidence managing projects from concept to publication.
Whilst we could be flexible on location, there would still be a requirement to travel to our Peterborough office when required for team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
- Using your journalistic and industry experience, you will help the Commercial Content Editor to manage and develop members of the digital editorial team, including setting and monitoring team KPIs, attending regular 121 meetings and mentoring writers
- Managing the day-to-day running of Parkers and Car digital affiliate strategy and your direct reports along with support from your editor/line manager.
- Supporting the editor with creating, planning and implementing the content strategy, drawing on expertise from around the business to ensure the subjects we cover are relevant and topical
- Editing, creating and optimising high-quality and helpful autos content that precisely meets the needs of our audience
- Researching and planning product tests and writing buyers’ guides in line with current best practise and SEO standards.
- With support from the Commercial Content Editor, manage the autos strategy during sales periods such as Prime Day and Black Friday.
- Working in close collaboration with the wider editorial team, audience development and SEO management.
What You\’ll Bring:
- You have experience with people management
- Your writing and communication skills are of the highest standard
- You have experience in writing and subbing news articles, in-depth features, product tests and reviews and know how to advise readers in their purchasing decisions through content
- You have good SEO knowledge and understand how to optimise content for it to rank
- You are self-motivated, display excellent time management, understand prioritisation, are self-organised and have a hands-on mentality
- You have a hunger to lead, along with a collaborative mindset, a can-do attitude and a willingness to help the team evolve
- You have an interest in creating consumer-focused car ownership content for everyone and ensuring it serves a diverse audience
- (Desirable) You are familiar with creating photography to support articles and are happy to appear in the content when necessary
- (Desirable) You have completed senior editorial training, a traineeship or a comparable qualification
