Bella, the UK’s best-selling traditional woman’s weekly, is looking for a Brand Editor (Maternity Cover) who can confidently take the reins of one of the most dynamic titles in the classic market.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape Bella’s unrivalled breadth of content across its weekly and monthly titles. You’ll work closely with our talented team of writers to deliver fresh, relevant coverage across celebrity and royal news, along with TV, lifestyle, and powerful, thought-provoking real-life stories.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced editorial environment, with the ability to pivot quickly, respond to breaking news and plan compelling content and attention-grabbing covers that truly resonates with our audience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans content outside of fixed cascades and creates flatplan with Heads of Content and Production Editor, and Art Directors where appropriate.

- Organises, oversees and monitors the issue flatplan flow (in conjunction with the Production Editor) to ensure the timely delivery of quality content to press
- Holds regular post-production review with Heads of Content and/or Content Editors to provide feedback and ensure continuous improvement on quality
- Proactively seeks feedback, support and guidance when needed to ensure their personal output is to the highest quality standards, and takes ownership of their personal development, by taking advantage of development opportunities including Digital Drop-ins, Bauer Academy courses, coaching and mentoring etc.
What you\'ll bring:
- In-depth knowledge of the classic market - especially around royal news and daytime TV stars - but a thorough understanding of celebrity and real-life markets is essential.
- Proven experience at Editor level on similar titles, whether it be magazines or newspapers.
- A sharp eye for stand-out cover stories and news angles, with the creative flair to deliver polished, on-brand, visually engaging content.
- Proven track record in managing tight print deadlines, coordinating with content creators, designers and production teams to deliver on schedule.
- Preferably have experience in running a small team and/or Top Table, and can demonstrate a supportive nature, and encourage a culture of growth, to continually improve performance.
