About the role
This is a commercially focused in-house legal role at the heart of Bauer Media Outdoor UK’s business. You will act as a trusted partner to teams across the organisation, helping manage risk, unlock commercial opportunities and support the delivery of our strategic goals. Commercial property sits at the core of what you will do, but you will also get real variety from procurement and supplier contracts to advertising regulation and operational support. This role is part of a small, collaborative legal team where common sense, remaining calm under pressure and a genuine desire to enable the business really count.
What you’ll be doing
- Portfolio: Partnering with our Retail and Portfolio Strategy teams to grow our advertising estate — drafting and negotiating heads of terms, leases and licences across retail, billboard and super premium locations. Supporting our Partnerships team on street furniture and transit concession tenders — from drafting responses and reviewing agreements through to post-award support, renewals and variations.
- Facilities: Partnering with our Facilities team on our portfolio of offices and depots, including supporting with taking on new locations, exiting existing locations, lease renewals, new developments and day-to-day occupancy queries. Leading on property due diligence and advising on title, access rights, third-party interests and regulatory considerations. Managing and maintaining Land Registry filings and registrations for the UK property portfolio.
- Commercial & Procurement: Drafting and negotiating supplier agreements, services contracts, volume rebate arrangements and other commercial contracts. Supporting commercial teams with charity partnerships, sponsorships, events and social value initiatives. Advising on advertising regulation, promotions and marketing matters, including ASA complaints and copy review queries. Providing ad-hoc legal support to the Direct Sales and Procurement teams.
- Wider Legal Support: Supporting the Head of Legal on board reporting, compliance, risk management, insurance, health and safety and HR matters. Contributing to the development of contract templates, playbooks and legal processes to drive efficiency and consistency across the business.
Knowledge and skills

- Commercially aware, with the ability to understand business drivers and translate them into pragmatic, solutions-focused legal advice.
- A confident, clear communicator who can explain legal concepts in plain English and build trusted relationships with non-legal stakeholders.
- Self-sufficient and well organised, with the ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively and escalate where needed.
- Experience with advertising regulation or ASA/CAP Code matters would be a bonus, though not essential.
