About the role

You will play a key role in our Group Accounting team, supporting management accounting and financial reporting across all HQ entities and contributing to group-wide reporting requirements. Our Group Accounting team handles daily accounting operations and statutory reporting for BMO HQ entities, as well as reporting to Germany for external consolidation across all Outdoor entities. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the team to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Management accounting: Leading the month-end timetable, recording complex financial transactions, performing balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations (including investigating aged items and resolving variances), reviewing work prepared by junior team members, and preparing variance analysis.
  • Financial reporting: Supporting the preparation of statutory external filings and completing government-mandated surveys.
  • Group reporting: Contributing to group consolidations and reports, and preparing group reconciliations and roll forwards.
  • Compliance: Supporting internal and external audits and documenting adherence to internal controls over financial reporting.

What we’re looking for…

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) with some post-qualification experience in management or financial accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP accounting principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with accounting software (D365 experience is advantageous).
