About the role… The role of Quality Inspector will sit within our AMSCREEN team, based in Bolton, Lancashire. AMSCREEN are a world leader in outdoor digital signage solutions. A total service is provided both domestically and internationally from hardware development and manufacturing to customer back-end services.
We are looking for a diligent and proactive Quality Inspector, capable of conducting essential quality checks on our bus shelter and digital display products within the UK and European supply chain, ensuring all products meet the company's quality standards before they reach the customer. This is an operational role, critical to maintaining product integrity and customer satisfaction through accurate inspection and clear reporting. This position will require you to travel extensively, visiting supplier sites across the UK and Europe.
Key Accountabilities:- On-Site Inspection & Testing: Conduct Pre-shipment and Pre-installation inspections (including Incoming Material and In-production checks) for bus shelters and digital products (LCD/LED) at supplier sites, warehouses, and customer’s locations across the UK and Europe.
- For Bus Shelters: Perform dimensional and visual inspections, check welding and surface treatment, conduct assembly tests and water ingress tests, and verify material reports and logistics packaging.
- For Digital Products: Test performance (e.g., brightness/color uniformity, dead pixels), structural integrity, electrical safety, water ingress protection, and functional operation, and verify logistics packaging.
- Non-Conformance Management: Clearly identify, document, and implement immediate containment actions for any non-conforming products. Provide detailed objective evidence (photos, videos, data) to support the Supply Chain Team in root cause analysis.
- Reporting & Communication: Independently generate accurate and detailed inspection reports in English using standard templates. Maintain regular communication and participate in regular video meetings with the Supply Chain Team to report findings and escalate critical quality issues in a timely manner.
What we’re looking for… Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hands-on quality inspection role within a manufacturing environment, ideally with timber or other sustainable materials. Metal and concrete fabrication (steel/aluminium, welding, surface treatment) and/or electro-mechanical assembly is a plus. Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and basic circuit diagrams. Practical, proven experience with standard quality control equipment (e.g., callipers, coating thickness gauges, brightness meters). Excellent written English with the ability to produce clear, factual, and data-driven reports. Full, valid UK driver's license and willingness to undertake frequent travel. Basic knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO9001:2015) and relevant European safety standards (e.g., CE marking). Willing to travel extensively across the UK and Europe. Experience in quality inspection for both structural/mechanical and electronic products. Experience with the inspection of timber or concrete components. Basic knowledge of Environmental management system - ISO14001:2015.
