Our Team: How we enrich everyday life

Bauer Media Audio is Europe's largest commercial audio broadcaster. We are on a journey to evolve the world of audio and continue to deliver for our audiences across Broadcast and Digital by sustained innovation across our entire product and technology estate.

You will be joining our growing Engineering function. Our teams design and deliver the technology that powers Bauer's products, platforms and customer experiences. You will work closely with developers, product managers, UX specialists and engineering leaders, becoming part of a collaborative, supportive, and ambitious group focused on building high-quality digital solutions.

This is a rare opportunity to shape ways of working from day one and influence how we deliver at scale across the organisation.

The difference you will make

As Head of Delivery you will be responsible for ensuring successful execution of multiple deliverables simultaneously within high performing, multi-disciplined software engineering squads. You will take ownership of digital programmes from a standing start, bringing clarity, structure and momentum, ensuring teams stay aligned, outcomes are delivered on time, and programmes remain on track.

You will act as the bridge between Product, Engineering and the wider business – turning product ambitions into a delivery plan that teams can execute confidently. In this role, your leadership will be critical to establishing delivery processes, coordinating dependencies, and enabling a confident, predictable delivery rhythm. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, building ways of working from scratch, and influencing how programmes come to life, this is your chance to make a visible and lasting impact.

Your role

You will lead the day-to-day delivery of digital programmes, ensuring teams have clear goals and plans, realistic forecasts, and the culture and support needed to deliver high-quality work. Your main objectives are to ensure the team delivers customer and market-driven solutions, to oversee operational continuity and performance and to ensure all technical work aligns with the product roadmap and wider business strategy.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with Product and Engineering leadership to define priorities, capacity, and throughput expectations.
  • Ensuring engineering and product identified risks and dependencies are captured and reported against - driving clear mitigation plans.
  • Lead Agile delivery teams using Scrum or other appropriate Agile methodologies.
  • Act as an escalation point for any issues which cannot be resolved within the tolerance of the teams or squads.
  • Collaborate with product and technology teams across a variety of forums to ensure technical and business alignment.
  • Coordinating comms, change, testing and business readiness activities.
  • Creating and maintaining programme-level roadmaps, timelines and delivery insights.
  • Coaching delivery maturity, continuous improvement and strong collaboration across squads.

The skills you will bring

Required:

  • Hands-on delivery management experience within digital development environments.
  • Proven track record delivering 2–3 substantial end-to-end digital initiatives.
  • Deep experience with Agile, sprint-based methodologies and modern delivery frameworks.
  • Experience embedding overarching processes to drive operational and delivery efficiency.
  • Proven ability to interact and influence product and technology teams - confident communicating at all levels.
  • Ability to provide long-term strategic direction while managing short-term goals.
  • Ability to bring clarity and structure to ambiguous, early-stage programmes.
  • Strong forecasting, estimation and planning capability.
  • Experience collaborating directly with engineering teams (not through layers).

Desired:

  • Experience in media/audio environments.
  • Comfortable using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) at an advanced level.

Working pattern / location

Full time permanent position. Hybrid role based in Manchester. You will typically come into the office a couple of times per week to collaborate with your team.
