You’ll be joining our energetic and multi award-winning News team. We’re the trusted local voice for millions of listeners across Greatest Hits Radio, Hits Radio, and our iconic brands including Magic Radio, Absolute Radio, and KISS. Our newsroom is collaborative, fast-paced and passionate about telling brilliant local stories. You’ll work closely with other reporters, editors and presenters who support each other, share ideas and thrive on being first to break the news.

The difference you will make: As a Multimedia Reporter, you’ll be at the forefront of breaking news. You’ll deliver engaging, authoritative journalism across radio, video, digital and social channels, ensuring our audiences receive accurate, balanced and compelling stories when they matter most.

Your role: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Sourcing, developing, and delivering breaking local news stories for radio, online, and social media platforms.
  • Planning and producing compelling, locally relevant breakfast bulletin content with engaging audio/video.
  • Reacting swiftly to breaking news and report live on location when required.
  • Building and maintaining strong local contacts to uncover original and exclusive stories.
  • Ensuring all content is legally sound, accurate, balanced, and Ofcom compliant.
  • Editing and presenting bulletins, and supporting other news roles as needed across Bauer’s network.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and contributing to a professional, positive working environment.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date news diary and share weekly coverage plans with the news desk.

The skills you will bring:

  • Recognised journalism qualification
  • Professional experience as a Journalist
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong audio and video editing skills
  • Knowledge of media law and Ofcom regulations
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure across platforms
  • News doesn’t stick to office hours – so you will have flexibility to respond out of hours

Working Pattern / Location: Full-time, permanent. Remote role, however, you can be based in our Leeds or Manchester newsrooms.
