We are looking for an Assistant Financial Accounting Manager to join our finance team in Peterborough. You will have overall responsibility for assigned accounting operations as well as associated analysis and report activities. You will work closely with your team of 2 to prepare the annual UK entity statutory accounts, report our UK and Non-UK companies' results to the consolidation team in our parent company in Hamburg, manage the accounting for payroll, fixed assets, properties, investments, intangibles, intercompany accounts, UK intercompany cash and other related areas as required.
Our Team
The Accounting team is responsible for fulfilling daily accounting tasks plus statutory reporting and the reporting to Germany for the external consolidation for all UK entities. The accounting team also delivers the base for the monthly internal management reporting. The overall Accounting & Banking Department right now includes roughly 30 employees, divided into 4 teams.
What you will do
- Prepare Statutory Accounts and IXBRL production for 15 UK Bauer entities and 2 joint venture companies
- Monthly and annual reporting to Hamburg head office using Group consolidation system
- Liaising with external auditors for the group audit requirements and statutory audits for all UK and Non-UK entities
- Overseeing the payroll upload file for the GL interface and reconciliation of payroll control accounts
- Management of relationship with external property portfolio managers and relevant funding and accounting
- Reconcile intercompany accounts with other worldwide Bauer entities for the UK and Non-UK
- Overseeing fixed asset transactions in line with the company policy
- Managing and developing the Assistant Financial Accountant and Junior Accountant
- UK intercompany cash and recharges analysis
- Collaborate closely with team members to ensure adherence to statutory and overseas requirements, serving as the foundation for management and other reporting needs
- Reporting for non-operating P&L areas for UK entities
What you will bring
- Proven post qualified accounting experience
- Accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA and/or through relevant demonstrable experience
- Extensive experience with statutory accounts
- Team management experience
- The ability to manage a busy workload in a fast paced environment

- Proactive attitude with team oriented, collaborative working style and adaptable to change
- Ability to manage different stakeholder requests
- S/4 Hana experience would be an asset
