You’ll be joining Bauer Media Audio, home to some of Europe’s most loved audio brands. Our Digital Audio team powers the platforms that millions use every day to stream, discover, and enjoy audio content. We collaborate across product, engineering, and security to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure services that make radio proud at cloud scale.
The Difference you will make
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll be the heartbeat behind the uptime, performance, and security of our Digital Audio platform. You’ll shorten the path from code to customer, coach teams in modern DevOps practices, and ensure our systems stay calm under pressure. Your work will directly impact millions of listeners by keeping experiences instant, secure, and smooth.
Your role
You will lead reliability efforts, build infrastructure, and partner with teams to deliver value that lands. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Own the reliability of Digital Audio systems: troubleshoot incidents, tune performance, and maintain high availability.
- Build, test, and upgrade infrastructure; support releases and recommend improvements.
- Partner with product and tech teams in roadmap and refinement, providing clear technical guidance.
- Lead by influence: level-up teams in DevOps methods, reduce technical debt, and champion security and resilience.
- Participate in an on-call rota for in-hours and out-of-hours incidents.
The Skills you will bring
- Proven experience in DevOps/SRE with production ownership and incident response.
- Strong problem-solving skills and security-minded approach.
- Ability to guide teams, simplify complexity, and align technical decisions to business outcomes.
- Organised, adaptable, and collaborative across product, engineering, and architecture.
Nice to have: experience in audio/streaming environments and operating within a 24×7 rota.
Toolkit you’ll touch
- AWS: Lambda, API Gateway, EKS; applying Well-Architected principles.
- CI/CD: Jenkins, Argo CD, GitHub Actions.
- IaC & Scripting: Terraform, bash/Go/Python on Linux.
Working Pattern/Location
Permanent, full-time, remote within the UK (hybrid optional). Includes participation in incident support rotas.
