We are looking for a Charity Manager to join our Cash for Kids team in Edinburgh. We are seeking an ambitious, self-motivated professional with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. You will be confident engaging with people at all levels and bring enthusiasm, initiative, and strong organisational ability to the role. The successful candidate will possess excellent people and event management skills, along with a proven ability to build and sustain partnerships that deliver tangible results. A strong local network of corporate and community contacts is highly desirable, as is the ability to demonstrate how these relationships can contribute to the charity’s growth and success.
Networking will be a key focus of the role; you will actively engage businesses and organisations across the Radio Forth area, inspiring them to support Cash for Kids through partnerships, sponsorships, and fundraising initiatives.
Our Team: How We Enrich Everyday Life
You will be leading a team of 4 that makes a difference in the community, creating and implementing a fundraising strategy that enriches the lives of children across your region. You will be joining the Cash for Kids Scotland East team, supporting our work across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife, and Falkirk. Reporting to the Regional Director for Scotland East, you will be based within the dynamic and fast-paced environment of a busy radio station where creativity, energy, and collaboration are key.
What you will do:
- Provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and day-to-day management of the charity’s activities and initiatives.
- Drive income growth by setting and achieving fundraising targets through the development and delivery of high-profile events and campaigns.
- Develop and execute targeted PR and communications plans to raise the charity’s profile and promote its mission.
- Oversee and advise on the preparation of grant applications prior to review by the Local Executive Board.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including radio and station teams, to coordinate and deliver effective on-air appeals and campaigns.
- Recruit, manage, and motivate a team of volunteers and street fundraisers to support initiatives.
What you will bring:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role ideally in a managerial fundraising position.
- Excellent presentation and sales abilities, with a confident and persuasive communication style both written and verbal.
- Energetic, proactive, and hands-on approach with a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for achieving results.
- Proven success in sales and corporate environments, demonstrating strong negotiation, relationship-building, and revenue generation skills.
- Strong project management and stakeholder collaboration skills, ensuring effective coordination and delivery of complex initiatives.
- Full, clean UK driving licence holder.
This role is based out of our Edinburgh office; you will be expected to work from the office, at home, and in the field.
