We’re hiring Apprentice Producers across a variety of content roles within Bauer Audio, working with some of our biggest radio brands and production teams. These roles are ideal for people who are passionate about radio, music, entertainment, digital content and learning how great audio is made. We’re not looking for experience, we are seeking potential, a skillset and genuine passion.

As an Apprentice Producer, you’ll support the teams who create, plan and deliver audio content every day. Depending on the role, this could include helping with live shows, editing audio, preparing content for broadcast, supporting presenters and producers, researching ideas, managing guests, working on competitions, speaking to listeners, organising content, and helping teams get ready for the next show.

We have 5 Apprentice Producer roles available, which you can read more about below. Your application will be reviewed and considered for all of these positions.

KISS

This role is focused on supporting pre‑recorded shows across KISS and its sub‑brands. You’ll spend time editing audio, preparing content for broadcast, listening back to output and learning the technical side of radio production. Over time, you’ll build the skills to help produce smaller shows. This role would suit someone who is technically minded, confident using or learning software, and plugged into KISS, KISS Xtra, dance music or youth culture. Experience creating content, such as podcasts, videos, social content or mixes, would be a bonus.

Hits Radio

This role supports the Hits Radio breakfast team, working in both a live studio environment and on post‑show production. You’ll help the team during the live show, which could include answering studio calls, briefing callers, supporting producers and helping the show run smoothly. After the show, you’ll help with editing, planning, preparing content notes, sharing audio and getting things ready for the next day. This role would suit someone organised, proactive and full of ideas, with a good understanding of the Hits Radio audience and what makes great mainstream entertainment content.

Specialist Brands, including Jazz FM and Planet Rock

This role supports our Specialist Brands team, working across stations such as Jazz FM, Planet Rock, Magic Classical and Kerrang. You’ll help with station events, competitions, general admin and keeping archives organised. These brands also create detailed documentary‑style content, so research and writing will be an important part of the role. This would suit someone with a genuine passion for music, especially jazz, rock and/or classical. We’re looking for someone musically curious, inquisitive and keen to learn more about the stories, artists and history behind the music.

Absolute Radio and Magic Radio

This role works across both Absolute Radio and Magic Radio, supporting key shows and wider production tasks. You’ll help with recording and editing, managing guests, listener engagement, and assistant production work on shows such as request shows. You’ll also support with services such as EPGs and other behind‑the‑scenes broadcast tasks. This role would suit someone who communicates well, manages their time effectively and can juggle different priorities. A basic understanding of radio, audio editing or driving a desk would be helpful.

Music Team

This role supports the Music Team across our stations and platforms, including Rayo and our premium stations. You’ll help with playlist research, music scheduling and reporting, supporting weekly playlist meetings for brands such as KISS and Hits Radio. This could include looking at trends, competitor activity, Spotify charts, social media and presenter feedback to help inform music decisions. You’ll also help schedule songs for premium stations, support seasonal and pop‑up music streams, identify music‑led content opportunities for Rayo, and help look after music guests when they visit our offices. This role would suit someone who is naturally interested in current music, understands different genres and audiences, and enjoys using research and insight to help shape great music experiences.
