Working Hours: Daily 11am to 3pm (flexibility on hours)
Role Overview: The Estates Caretaker is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation and upkeep of the estate. This includes ensuring the site is safe, clean, and well-maintained while supporting event operations and site development/improvement plans. The role involves close coordination with the CEO Commercial & Estates to deliver a high-quality environment for all users.
We are looking for someone with:
- Proactive work ethic
- Experience with hand tools/painting/cleaning

- Basic IT skills

Key Responsibilities:
- Site Operations & Facilities: Act as a visible point of contact for all site visitors and conduct oneself patiently, politely, and respectfully at all times to uphold the reputation of the site. Clean, maintain, and upkeep the site to ensure customer/attendee expectations are met or exceeded. Manage cleaning, including public areas and toilets, ensuring high standards are maintained. Conduct regular meter readings and report usage data to BGF office. Plan and deliver routine and reactive maintenance to ensure the site remains safe and operational to a high standard. Help manage on-site signage, ensuring clear, compliant, and effective placement. Have regular meetings with CEO – Commercial & Estates to agree operations plans and future maintenance. Incorporate and maintain an effective maintenance plan including asset management.
- Event Support & Stewarding: Assist with the setup and dismantling of events held on-site. Provide stewarding and staffing support during events to ensure safety, smooth operations, and customer/attendee satisfaction. Liaise with the wider events team to deliver efficient event logistics.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure site operations meet and exceed health & safety regulations and best practices at all times. Report hazards, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly through the appropriate channels. Support regular site inspections and risk assessments. Liaise with cleaning, waste management, and maintenance contractors where necessary. Monitor contractor performance and ensure service levels are met.
- Training: Attend staff training to meet or exceed the requirements of the job, including but not limited to: Health and Safety, First Aid, COSHH & Pest Control, Commercial vehicle operation, Security and conflict de-escalation.
