Rehoming & Welfare Assistant
Battersea Old Windsor's cattery is looking for a dedicated team member to join as a Rehoming & Welfare Assistant. The role involves providing the highest standard of animal husbandry, care and enrichment to the cats in our care, and ensuring that they are ready for rehoming as quickly as possible through observing and recording insightful behaviour observations, forming temperament assessments and maintaining up‑to‑date animal records.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate intake for cats and facilitate a calm, welcoming environment.
- Deliver feline friendly care while cats are on site, monitoring health, behaviour and wellbeing.
- Observe, record and analyse cat behaviour to inform temperament assessments.
- Maintain accurate and timely animal records for each cat.
- Prepare cats for rehoming, including socialisation and health checks.
- Assist with the rehoming process and support new adopters as needed.
- Engage with staff, volunteers and visitors to promote a positive learning environment.
- Perform physical tasks required to provide exceptional standards of care, including handling and moving cats.
