This is a full‑time Mobile HIU Technician role based in London Battersea Power Station. The role involves day‑to‑day maintenance of heat interface units, planned and reactive work, and close collaboration with the service desk to deliver high‑quality service to residential customers.

Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • HIU/CIU inspections and reactive maintenance within contracted timeframes.
  • Carry out repairs identified during servicing (removal/replacement of pumps, valves, actuators, bleeding systems).
  • Update work orders promptly in the asset management system.
  • Liaise with the service desk to rebook and close on‑hold jobs.
  • Manage van stock and alert management for critical parts.
  • Work safely following the company Health & Safety policy.
  • Support team objectives and mentor junior technicians as required.
  • Perform heat meter work (battery replacement, meter replacement, error investigation).
  • Report PPMs/reactive jobs, on‑hold or pending actions bi‑weekly to management.
  • Follow escalation procedures for issues outside the role remit such as plant room temperature problems.
  • Deliver a first‑class service to customers and prioritise tasks under pressure.

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum two years experience in plumbing or HVAC.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Experience in residential environments.
  • Technical knowledge of communal and district heating systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining HIUs.
  • Preferred: Qualification to ND / City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical.
  • Passion for emerging energy technologies and Net Zero.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Positive attitude, meets deadlines, manages conflicting priorities.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Full DBS check.

Salary: £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience.
