We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team. The role is primarily responsible for accurate and timely processing of payroll, with additional support to the HR function across a range of administrative activities. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong payroll experience who enjoys variety and working closely with HR colleagues.
Location and Working Hours
- Location: Yeovil
- Salary: £26k FTE
- Hours: 12 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll
- Process monthly/weekly payroll accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with HMRC and statutory requirements, including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments
- Process starters, leavers, salary changes and deductions
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees in a timely and professional manner
- Preparation of month end journal to include in the accounting ledgers
- Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity
- HR Administration
- Maintain and update employee records on HR and payroll systems
- Support the onboarding process, including issuing contracts and collecting right to work documentation
- Carry out employment reference checks in line with company procedures
- Book and coordinate training courses, maintaining accurate training records
- Provide general HR administrative support as required
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a payroll administration role
- Good working knowledge of UK payroll legislation
- Experience of HR administration tasks is desirable
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Competent user of payroll and HR systems and Microsoft Office
