The Insights Team is central to everything we do at Battenhall, delivering social media audits, strategy, reporting, research, social listening and audience intelligence. The Insights Manager role will primarily focus on delivering insights and reports for one key sporting client, working with the Account Handling team to deliver these on time and to the best of our abilities. The Insights Manager will also work on a small number of ad-hoc projects including new business opportunities. This role includes the management of key project workflows, leading on the delivery of our reporting, and being hands-on with day-to-day activities such as providing insights solutions for client briefs, bringing strategies and campaigns to life from the data, insights and analytics, and working closely with teams from Account Handling, Innovation, to Paid Media and Design.

Responsibilities

  • Research and reporting, such as collecting, analysing, and interpreting data and insights from various sources to uncover trends, patterns, and consumer sentiment, and creating and managing regular performance reports (campaign, weekly, monthly and quarterly) for clients.
  • Oversee the delivery of projects on time, managing them alongside senior leads and supporting juniors.
  • Manage relevant tasks such as advanced data manipulation or visualisation in collaboration with the Innovation team.
  • Help manage social media audits, delving into industry and brand activity to assess strengths and weaknesses and identify opportunities for retained clients and projects.
  • Work with senior team members to make strategic recommendations across projects, including creation of KPIs.
  • Set up social listening searches and analyse online conversation to inform campaigns, strategies and content creation.
  • Analyse social media audiences and behavioural insights, identifying shifts in behaviours and trends.
  • Monitor online crises and issues via alerts and ongoing monitoring, analysing conversations with listening queries.
  • Deliver compelling narratives and present visually engaging presentations and reports that convey results, insights and recommendations.
  • Identify influencers and key voices using tools, platforms and social listening.
  • Scope new insights projects for existing clients and support senior team members on new business opportunities.
  • Share latest industry trends and updates to demonstrate expertise and knowledge of social media.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a social media, digital communications, insights specialist agency, or a relevant in-house department.
  • Experience with a wide range of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, Reddit).
  • Experience in data analysis and research, with strong quantitative and qualitative insights skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, queries) and the ability to build sophisticated AI prompts for data sets.
  • Strong interest or knowledge of sports, sports apparel, and accessories.
  • Experience with benchmarking, KPI creation and setting targets for future performance.
  • Experience with mixed methodologies including audience analysis, questionnaire development, focus groups.
  • Experience using social listening and social media management tools (Meltwater, Khoros, Sprinklr, Sprout, Brandwatch).
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to present effectively.
  • Ability to manage scopes, timelines, resourcing, client budgets and work across multiple global accounts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
  • Bonus: SQL or programming experience.
