Location: Salisbury or Chippenham (office based)
Hours: Part-time
Salary: Competitive, dependant on experience
Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays pro-rata (increasing with length of service)
Outline
We are seeking an experienced part-time Family Law Fee Earner to join our dynamic family department. We advise on relationship breakdowns, including separation, divorce and dissolution, arrangements for children, matrimonial finances, pre-marriage advice and agreements, post-marriage advice and agreements and almost everything in between.
This role offers the opportunity to manage a varied caseload of family law matters, providing expert legal advice and support across a broad range of complex cases. You will work closely with the rest of the department, clients and professional connections while contributing to the continued growth and success of our highly regarded team.

Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of private law family matters.
- Deliver clear, practical, expert legal advice to clients across all areas of family law.
- Resolve sensitive family matters constructively with a focus on Non-Court Dispute Resolution where appropriate.
- Run Court cases effectively and efficiently.
- Compile, paginate, and index court bundles in strict compliance with court rules and firm standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management records.
- Proactively manage risks, resolve issues and progress matters efficiently.
- Work collaboratively within a specialist family department.
- Support business development where appropriate.
Skills and attributes
Core:
- Qualified Solicitor, CILEX or Paralegal ideally with a minimum of three years’ experience in family law, with expertise private family law matters.
- Professional with a pro-active approach.
- Empathetic client care and communication skills.
- Exceptional emotional intelligence and active listening.
- Ability to balance compassion with providing clear, objective legal advice to clients experiencing high-stress situations.
- Excellent technical, drafting and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice to a diverse client base.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload and client expectations effectively and meet competing deadlines.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality legal services, exceptional client care and maintaining the highest professional standards.
