Who We Are: Welcome to YMCA Brunel Group! We're a locally governed and managed charity operating in Mendip, Bath, Bristol, Wiltshire, and South Somerset. Our Activities:

  • Accommodation: We provide housing for over 700 people every year who are at risk of homelessness, on low incomes, facing work barriers, or young people needing high support levels, often due to past trauma and hardships. It's not just about a bed; we support residents holistically, helping them gain the training, skills, and confidence for independent living.
  • Health & Wellbeing Centre in Bath: A community facility with a fully equipped gym, functional fitness areas, and an extensive class programme.
  • Commercial Hostels in Bath and Bristol: These help us cover our central costs.
  • Youth Clubs: Twelve youth clubs for young people aged 10-19, including four young carers groups, where they can talk to trusted youth workers, access relevant info, and build social networks.
  • Nurseries: Eight Ofsted registered nurseries providing spaces for up to 360 children, setting them up for their educational journeys and future lives.

What Does the Job Entail? This is a key role in our Adults Services team, providing on-site support to people aged 18+ with low support needs living in temporary accommodation. You will be the lead worker in Spencer House and be the first point of contact for residents living there. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the building and health and safety compliance, ensuring that it provides a safe and welcoming environment for the people living there. Spencer House has 8 units of accommodation in Wells. This post requires lone working. You will need a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
