This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance and business management professional to take on a broad, senior role at the heart of our Trust family of schools. As Regional Hub Business Lead, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of your Hub's financial and business performance, and its supporting operational delivery model. You will act as the business partner to Headteachers, providing strategic advice to directly affect educational outcomes for pupils. This is a commercial role with real scope and variety, focused on delivering best value for Hub schools, identifying new income opportunities, and driving cost efficiencies in a challenging funding environment. It is a role for someone who combines financial expertise with strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to the Trust's vision and values.

Your duties will include:

  • Overseeing budget setting, monitoring, and forecasting for all schools in the Hub, including monthly management accounts and reporting to Headteachers
  • Leading on procurement and contract management, ensuring value for money at Hub and Trust level
  • Managing and authorising expenditure on behalf of Hub schools in line with role mandates
  • Supporting recruitment, induction, onboarding, and workforce planning across the Hub
  • Ensuring compliance with DfE and Trust financial regulations, safeguarding, GDPR, and health and safety requirements
  • Monitoring absence, payroll accuracy, and staff wellbeing initiatives, including payroll reconciliation in line with monthly accounts
  • Working with the Regional Hub Facilities Lead to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective estates management
  • Supporting the maintenance of risk registers and mitigation plans across Hub schools
  • Producing monthly Hub performance reports for Regional Directors and the Executive Team
  • Acting as a trusted business partner to Headteachers, providing strategic advice and building strong relationships with Trust and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • A professional finance qualification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience
  • Significant experience in finance and business management across multiple sites
  • A proven track record of budget setting and monitoring
  • Experience managing HR processes and compliance
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and DfE requirements
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present clear recommendations
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel, finance systems, and HR systems
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
