We are seeking a Teaching Fellow in Biology to deliver teaching content in the classroom and in the lab, across a range of modules within the Biological Sciences Subject area.

Compensation: £38,784 / year

The successful candidate will be able to contribute to undergraduate teaching in one or more of the following areas: cell biology and genetics, anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, and pharmacology.

This is a 7-month Fixed Term Contract covering maternity leave from 13th October 2025 – 22nd May 2026

About the Role

You will contribute to undergraduate teaching delivery and associated marking and feedback.

This would be in several areas of the curriculum related to Biomedical Science and Biology, on existing modules, and would include delivering lectures and leading practical classes mainly with Level 4 and Level 5 students.

About You

  • A good first degree in a relevant discipline, such as Biology, Cell Biology, or Biomedical Science
  • Good knowledge of general biological principles and technical skills
  • Excellent communication skills appropriate for teaching undergraduates with a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Already hold or be pursuing a higher degree in a relevant area
  • Prior experience of different teaching methods and/or experience of university level teaching
  • Associate Fellow or Fellow of the Higher Education Academy

Salary Grade Ac2 £38,784 per annum

This is a 7-month Fixed Term Contract covering maternity leave from 13th October 2025 – 22nd May 2026
