Description
We are currently seeking a Subject Librarian, who will be a key member of the Library Learning Services Team, leading on supporting the research and teaching/learning needs of staff and students for the Bath School of Music and Performing Arts and The School of Writing, Publishing and Humanities.
About the Role
In this role, you will build strong relationships with academic staff and students, support the delivery of a comprehensive digital and information literacy programme, and contribute to the development of high-quality resources and services.
Youβll also play a key part in strategic planning and policy development, assist with budget management for your subject areas, and provide cover for colleagues when needed. Excellent communication skills, along with experience of building collaborative working relationships will be a paramount within this role.
About You
- Postgraduate qualification in library/information management and Chartered Librarian status or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (or appropriate equivalents)
- Proven post-qualification professional experience in a library and/or information environment
- Ability to undertake the teaching of information literacy skills
- Professional skills in relation to collections management, budget management, searching electronic resources, experience of Library Management Systems, Reading List Systems.
- Proven academic liaison experience and excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of the UK higher education environment, including teaching, learning and research
- Demonstrable desire to gain professional accreditation e.g. membership of CILIP, registration for Chartership etc.
- Previous teaching experience or qualification

Additional Information
Salary Grade 7 β Starting from Β£ 38,249 rising to Β£ 42,882 per annum
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Special Conditions
- A qualified Chartered Librarian with experience of working in an HE environment
- The post-holder may be required to contribute to a rota of evening and/or weekend duties. During which time they may be responsible for the delivery of the entire front-facing service.
- On occasion, the post-holder may be required to work at another campus but would mainly be based at Newton Park.
