An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Student Data Quality Audit Officers to join our team. The Data and Insights Service plays a key role within BSU in relation to the management and governance of data, the provision of strategic insight and the delivery of statutory reporting.
The department consists of three interlinked teams which work closely together: Data and Insights, Statutory Reporting and Data Quality.
About the Role
Playing a key role across all three teams, the Student Data Quality Officer (Audit) will conduct and develop regular data quality audits to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the data held within our student records database, SITS. You will identify opportunities for improving data capture, processing, and reporting, and will work with student-facing teams across the University to improve student record keeping and data quality. You will communicate these improvements to SITS users within and outside the department to ensure that data is captured and processed to support the University's data audit strategy, and to meet the requirements of internal student monitoring and external statutory returns. You will provide high-level support and expertise on SITS-related enquiries from both within and outside the department, contribute to the development of training materials and process documentation, and provide guidance to teams from across the University.
About You
- Previous experience of working in higher education (ideally with student records)
- Experience in a work environment analysing data to spot errors and inconsistencies
- Experience of improving data processes
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams to proactively help improve quality
- Audit experience within a business user environment
- Project Management experience
- Experience of using SITS

Additional Information
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
There may be occasions where you are expected to work outside of your normal hours for the purpose of attending conferences, public events, etc.
