We are currently seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant, who will support the day-to-day operation of the central kitchen, preparing and cooking food to high standards. The job also supports all food preparation for hospitality and events. This is a part-time role, 25 hours per week, term time only.

About the Role

Working with the Head Chef and kitchen team, you will help deliver excellent food and customer service while maintaining high standards of food safety, presentation, and hygiene. You will support stock control, food preparation, menu development, and HACCP compliance, while helping to minimise waste and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment. This is a varied, hands-on role that requires flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering an outstanding catering experience across our hospitality services. In addition, you will assist in the planning and delivery of events such as graduation, open days, weddings, summer schools, and conferences.

Additional Information

This is a part-time role, 25 hours a week, term time only. You will be required to work evenings and weekends for planned events, for which, overtime will be paid when in excess of contracted hours. Due to operational requirements, some flexibility of working hours will be required in order to meet business needs. The department can be open 7 days a week and post holders will be required to work on a 5 out of 7 rotating pattern, covering early mornings, evenings & weekends. Advanced notice will be provided.
