Description
Join us as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Acting. We are looking for applicants with professional knowledge of live performance and/or recorded media/new technologies (for example, film & TV, audio books, podcast, motion capture).
An enterprising approach and entrepreneurial mindset is important, as it is key to the Acting programme’s ethos. We are looking for adaptable and emotionally intelligent people who understand the ever-changing cultural landscape of the creative industries, particularly emerging employability routes and the evolving nature of best practice across the Acting sector.
Applications are welcome from professionals and academics with experience in Acting, or whose experience as Creative Producers and/or Directors intersects with Acting.
About the Role
To design and deliver content across a range of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, support and assess learners, contribute to curriculum planning and development and engage in research and scholarly activity.
About You
- Extensive knowledge and experience of a range of text-based approaches to actor training in live performance and/or recorded media
- An excellent teacher with demonstrable interest in pedagogic innovation in the training of actors, and/or directors and/or producers
- Commitment to build and maintain professional and sector networks
- An ability to inspire learners through commitment to excellent teaching
- Engagement with current and developing industry best practice that enhances the equity and working environments for creatives (e.g. intimacy practice, EDI in casting, neurodiversity riders)
- Commitment to exploring new creative environments for employability routes e.g. Gaming/motion capture, AI
- A practical understanding of promotional routes for actors (e.g. social media, show reels, casting websites, etc)
Additional Information
Salary: Grade Ac3S to Ac3A, starting from £44,746 rising to £56,536 per annum
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
This is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. A job share can be considered for this role. Interview date: 25 September.
