Description
We are currently seeking an Interim Head of Corporate Governance to join us at Bath Spa University. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the provision of high-quality services to support and enable the effective and efficient governance of the institution.
It is an exciting time for Bath Spa University under the leadership of our new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Georgina Andrews, as we continue the delivery of our Strategy 2030 as a professionally creative institution.
About the Role
You will act as the institution’s senior lead for all aspects of corporate governance. You will lead and develop a small team which operates at the heart of the University to deliver outstanding services across the following principal areas: Board of Governors secretariat, risk management, internal audit, assurance and regulatory compliance.
This role reports directly to the University Secretary and will enjoy close working with executive leaders and board members.
About You
This varied and exciting opportunity calls for a consummate professional with proven leadership and management experience. We are looking for an excellent communicator and natural collaborator who can inspire trust and quickly build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally.
You will have senior level experience of managing boards and committees and of leading and advising on governance, compliance, risk and assurance activities within the higher education sector. Excellent knowledge of the Office for Students regulatory framework is essential.
You will have a degree or equivalent experience. A professional qualification in governance or law would also be an advantage but is not essential.
Additional Information
This is a full-time interim role, and we expect to offer the successful candidate a fixed term contract of up to 12 months. The role is available from April although some flexibility on the start date may be possible. Hybrid working is available for this role.
