This is an 18‑month, full‑time fixed‑term role based at Newton Park, Bath, Somerset, with a yearly salary of £26,707 – £28,778. Only former Bath Spa students who graduated in 2025 or who will be graduating in 2026 are eligible to apply. Applications that do not meet this criterion will be automatically rejected.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work across a wide range of university activities to promote sustainable principles. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and running awareness and engagement campaigns within the university and the wider community.
  • Conducting research and data analysis to investigate potential schemes and initiatives, and contributing to policy analysis.
  • Identifying new projects and leading them through evidence gathering, report preparation and presentation to team members and senior leaders.
  • Managing large volumes of data on energy, water and heat use across buildings and sites in multiple cities.
  • Collaborating with staff, students and external partners to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Day‑to‑day tasks will vary, reflecting the candidate’s interests and the team’s needs. The role will embed opportunities for engagement through online and in‑person events, creative workshops and community sessions.

About You

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and an eagerness to develop data‑analysis skills. Enthusiastic about sustainability, climate change, and responsible resource use, with an ambition to identify gaps and propose solutions. Demonstrated understanding of sustainability concepts and practical implementation. Relevant academic degree and experience in sustainability‑related work, research projects or extracurricular activities (e.g., biodiversity, behaviour change, awareness campaigns). Effective communication skills and confidence in engaging with diverse audiences.
