You will support the day-to-day operation of the central kitchen, preparing and cooking food to high standards. The job supports all food preparation for hospitality and events. This is a part-time role for 25 hours per week (0.6 FTE), in term time only.

About the Role

  • To support the kitchen team with the serving and preparation of food for all outlets.
  • Cooking and preparing food to a high standard and quality using recipes.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of events such as graduation, open days, weddings, summer schools and conferences.

About You

  • Food safety qualification.
  • Experience of food preparation, knowledge of allergens and special diets.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Commercial kitchen experience.
  • Teamwork and working under pressure evidence.

Additional Information

  • Grade 5 - Starting from £17,752.80 rising to £19,801.20 per annum pro rata.
  • The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay.
  • Interview dates: 10th and 12th August.
  • You will be required to work evenings and weekends for planned events, for which overtime will be paid when in excess of contracted hours.
  • Due to operational requirements, some flexibility of working hours will be required in order to meet business needs.
  • The department can be open 7 days a week and post holders will be required to work on a 5 out of 7 rotating pattern, covering early mornings, evenings and weekends.
