About the Role

In this role, you’ll play an active part in ensuring the Estates and Services Team operates efficiently. You’ll support daily office activities, maintain accurate records, manage data entry and correspondence, and provide helpful, professional assistance to staff, students, and external contacts. You’ll also take responsibility for the daily management of the university’s vehicle fleet, helping to keep essential services moving. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative team and brings a positive, proactive approach to their work. You’ll have strong communication skills, excellent organisation, and confidence using Outlook, Microsoft Office 365, Sharepoint and general administrative tools. Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple tasks will help you thrive, along with previous experience in an administrative role.

About You

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written with the ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst building and maintaining good working relationships with people at all levels.
  • As well as working as part of a team to have the capability to work under your own initiative.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads effectively when working to tight deadlines.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Excellent skills for attention to detail.
  • 5 GCSE passes Grade C or above including Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Customer Service qualification.
  • Experience maintaining and developing databases and modernising record systems.

Additional Information

Salary Grade 4 - Starting from £26,707 rising to £28,778 per annum. Salary progression shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances. This position will be primarily working on campus with 1 day working from home. Interviews will be conducted w/c 9 February 2026.
