We are currently seeking an Energy Performance Officer, who will form part of the Sustainability Team, which sits within the Estates department.
You will have a key role in supporting the various estates functions in the operation and monitoring of energy and water-related plant and activities.

About the Role


As our Energy Performance Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the University's journey to a low-carbon future. Working closely with the Sustainability Manager, you will lead energy monitoring, carbon reduction initiatives and the development of our ISO 50001 Energy Management System.
You'll use data and innovative technologies to optimise building performance, manage utility metering systems, deliver insightful energy and carbon reporting, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency across our estate.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence strategic sustainability projects, work with a wide range of stakeholders, and make a measurable impact on the University's environmental performance and net zero ambitions.

About You


  • Educated to relevant degree-level qualification or equivalent
  • Recent experience in a similar role/one with transferrable skills
  • Hold an m&t qualification or demonstrable CPD
  • Previous BEMS analysis experience and CPD
  • Knowledge of ISO management systems
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Energy management system experience
  • Experience of implementing m&t strategies
  • Membership of IEMA or similar professional body

Additional Information


Salary Grade 6 - Starting from £33,951 rising to £37,694 per annum
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
