This will enable the Union to provide a valued benefit to our members, supporting their sense of belonging, improving their mental and physical health and well-being, and combatting loneliness – as well as supporting our cross-universities working relationships.

Responsibilities

● To ensure a democratic process for accessing and allocating funding for student groups

● To work with established societies to support successful events and day to day activities, including Raising and Giving (RAG), fundraising, equipment and resources

● To support new clubs and societies undertaking onboarding, training, risk assessments, code of conduct and society constitution

● To create and deliver training to develop and support committee members to be successful in their roles

● To plan and execute events to celebrate our clubs and societies successes, such as society awards, in collaboration with our events team

● To provide oversight, and guidance to support clubs and societies with budget control and expenditure, making purchases where necessary

● Working with Sabbatical Officers, and other team members to collate content, design and publish Clubs and Societies fortnightly newsletter

● To provide guidance on union policies and procedures, particularly during committee elections

● To work closely with the events team to develop and deliver projects and events which enable students to build community and foster a sense of belonging, such as Give It A Go, Activities Fair, campaigns and activities.

● To develop and implement an accreditation framework for student opportunities

● To work with colleagues and external partners to develop fundraising opportunities

● To administrate all aspects of fundraising, working with the finance team to ensure compliance with Union policy and charity law

● To build strong relationships with academic and professional services staff, staying informed on current university policies and plans.
