Bath Rugby is looking for reliable and enthusiastic Next Gen Community Rugby Coaches to support the delivery of its Next Generation programme.
The Role
Reporting to the Next Generation Manager, you will deliver high-quality, safe and engaging rugby experiences that inspire young players and promote participation across Bath Rugby’s community programmes.
Work is flexible and casual throughout the year, mainly during school holidays, after school and at weekends. The role suits community coaches and teachers with coaching experience who want to upskill with the support of the Next Gen professional coaching team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Next Generation camps, masterclasses, tournaments, match-day experiences and other community initiatives
- Create a safe, enjoyable and inclusive environment for all participants
- Make sure coaching complies with RFU, safeguarding and health and safety standards
- Set up, maintain and return equipment
- Build positive relationships with participants, parents, schools, clubs and partners
About You
- Experience coaching rugby union
- An RFU coaching award (or equivalent)
- A current DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to travel within one or more of Bath Rugby’s regions
- Desirable: experience with children and young people, the England Rugby Coaching Award, and safeguarding and first aid qualifications

- Location: Across Bath Rugby’s regions – Bath, Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire
- Contract: Casual, zero hours (sessional)
- Pay: Matchday coaching £45; tournament coaching £75; camp coaching £100 per day; residential coaching £140 per day
