Location: Bath & North East Somerset
Role Overview: We are looking to register new Shared Lives carer households in B&NES. Shared Lives is a service where the carer uses their own home and daily life to provide support to people who have eligible needs.
Responsibilities:
- Use your own home to provide day support, respite stays or full-time care to individuals with support needs, including BSL users at level 3 or above.
- Serve as the primary contact for supported individuals, deciding whether to accept or decline new support requests.
- Participate in a detailed matching process conducted by a dedicated coordinator.
- Provide necessary care and support as requested by the scheme, while ensuring the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ability to use British Sign Language at a level 3 standard or above.
- Experience or willingness to support individuals with autism or a learning disability.
- Self-employment as a Shared Lives carer, responsible for personal tax arrangements.
