Role Overview
We are seeking a Traffic Management Engineer to contribute to the delivery of safe, efficient, and sustainable transport solutions across Bath and North East Somerset. This role involves supporting the development and implementation of traffic schemes, managing Traffic Regulation Orders (including temporary orders), and engaging with stakeholders to improve the public highway and transport network.
Requirements
- Experience: Relevant experience in traffic management, transport planning, or highway engineering. Familiarity with the design and delivery of traffic schemes is important, and a working knowledge of Traffic Regulation Orders would be beneficial.
- Knowledge: Good understanding of relevant legislation, technical standards, and health and safety requirements, including CDM. Awareness of the transport challenges faced by the Council and the wider policy context.
- Skills: Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage your own workload and support junior staff. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities are key.
- Innovation: A proactive approach to problem‑solving and service improvement, with the ability to contribute ideas and support continuous development within the team.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and across services to deliver high‑quality outcomes for residents and communities.
