About the Team

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, professional individual to work in our Home Improvement Team as a Senior Surveyor/Specialist Grants Officer, on a temporary basis providing maternity cover. The post involves working as part of a team, providing Disabled Facilities Grants, and other financial assistance, as set out in the current published Decent Homes Policy, to improve and adapt the homes of eligible residents in Bath and North East Somerset. Ensuring timely, effective, and a person-centred support that promotes independence and safety.

About the Role

You will prepare schedules of work, evaluate costs and inspect the quality of completed works agreed for grant funding/financial assistance, to ensure value for money. This will include referring and agreeing the scope of eligible works with the Council’s commissioned Home Improvement Agency on complex cases. This post is 37 hours per week, based at the Civic Centre, Keynsham. However, alternative workplaces, including home based working, can also be used with the agreement of the manager. Additionally, there may occasionally be a requirement to work, or be available outside of regular office hours, including for evening meetings.

About You

  • Membership of a relevant professional organisation (such as Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, Association of Project Managers, RICS) is desirable.
  • The Post holder must hold a clean driving license.
