Hours: Part-time and shift patterns to include every other weekend and some bank holidays.

Welcome Payment: This post attracts a Welcome Payment of 5% of the starting salary for the grade to enable individuals to join our permanent workforce. This is payable upon successful completion of your probationary period and is subject to eligibility criteria.

About the Role: As a Senior Care Assistant in our Extra Care Services, you will play a crucial part in our management team, ensuring holistic, person-centred care and practical support for our tenants. Your role will be to empower individuals to live independently with dignity and choice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Support: Assist in managing and supporting the care team, including allocating electronic work rotas and supervising staff.
  • Care Planning: Help prepare, implement, and review individual care plans, care records, and risk assessments.
  • Health Monitoring: Monitor the general health and well-being of tenants, ensuring early intervention when necessary to prevent hospital admissions.
  • Medication Management: Ensure proper control, recording, and issuing of medications as prescribed by medical practitioners.

About You: While previous experience in a senior care role is advantageous, a commitment to delivering quality care is essential. Full training will be provided. This role is perfect for individuals looking to advance their careers and gain hands-on experience in a supportive and friendly environment.

What is Extra Care? Extra Care Housing offers adults with care needs an assured tenancy in a self-contained flat within a purpose-built or adapted scheme. Our Extra Care housing services have been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as of June 2022.

This opportunity involves a rota system, including early shifts starting at 7:30 am and late shifts ending at 10:15 pm. You will work every other weekend, with enhancements paid for bank holidays.
