About The Role
- Manage a wide range of licensing activities, ensuring compliance with legislation and policy.
- Lead on complex licensing cases, including complaints and enforcement actions.
- Review and determine licence applications, making informed decisions to protect public safety.
- Provide clear, practical advice to applicants, licensees, and stakeholders on licensing requirements.
This role offers flexibility, with the ability to work from home for part of the week, combined with office-based collaboration and on-site visits. You'll be part of a small, busy team where adaptability and flexibility are essential. We need officers with a strong work ethic who can work independently, manage complex cases, and provide clear reporting to lead officers.
Out-of-Hours Work
This role may occasionally require working outside of standard office hours. This includes participation in late-night and early-morning operations, particularly within the night-time economy. Such duties are essential to support enforcement activities, ensure public safety, and uphold licensing compliance during peak periods of activity.
About You
- Experience of licensing or a regulatory background and if you don't have licensing experience, full training will be provided.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex requirements clearly.
- Proven ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
- Experience using Office 365 software packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
Desirable
- Knowledge of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE).
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. Institute of Licensing).
- Specialist qualifications such as the BTEC Level 3 Animal Inspector.
