Midsomer Norton Town Council is seeking an experienced Property and Assets Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of our buildings, parks, open spaces and community facilities, including assets held by the Midsomer Norton Town Trust.
This key role involves overseeing the day-to-day upkeep, safety and effective operation of the Council's buildings, parks, open spaces and community facilities, ensuring compliance with all statutory and health and safety requirements.
You will manage maintenance programmes and capital projects, plan long-term investment, maintain a comprehensive asset register, and ensure assets are sustainable, commercially effective and optimally utilised.
You will also line-manage the Town Warden and work closely with local residents, user groups and partner organisations to maximise community benefit.
We are looking for someone with strong experience in property or asset management, excellent knowledge of statutory compliance and health and safety legislation, and a proven ability to manage contractors, budgets, maintenance programmes and asset performance. Experience of identifying opportunities to improve asset utilisation and value would be advantageous.
Strong communication and reporting skills are essential, along with the ability to engage positively with community stakeholders. Local government or charity sector experience and relevant health and safety qualifications are desirable.
