At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives. This post attracts a welcome payment of 5% of the starting salary for the grade to enable individuals to join our permanent workforce. This is payable upon successful completion of your probationary period and is subject to eligibility criteria.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit a dedicated, experienced Senior Night Care Assistant to join our team at Combe Lea. Combe Lea is a purpose built 30 bedded residential care home that supports older adults living with varying degrees of frailty and a diagnosis of Dementia in a homely environment. Combe Lea is situated in Midsomer Norton, Somerset and is based over 3 floors. As a Senior Support Worker you will work in a supervisory position, supporting the Registered Manager to maintain exceptional high levels of care and support to the residents.

Responsibilities

  • Manage shifts over a 4-week rolling rota, including alternative weekends and Bank Holidays.
  • Supervise staff and support the daily operations of Combe Lea.
  • Provide rota cover for staff absences.
  • Conduct audits and staff development activities.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and follow policy and procedure proactively.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge and understanding of CQC regulations.
  • Experience in night care and residential care settings.
  • Ability to lead a team and manage a 12-hour night shift schedule.
