About the Team
Greenacres Court is one of Bath and North East Somerset Council’s Extra Care Housing services, providing care and support to adults with care needs within a vibrant community setting in Midsomer Norton. Extra Care Housing offers individuals an assured tenancy in a self-contained flat within a purpose-built or adapted scheme, enabling tenants to maintain their independence while receiving the care and support they need. Our Extra Care services were rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in June 2022.
About the Role
We are looking for an Extra Care Support Worker to join our team at Greenacres Court, Midsomer Norton on a permanent part-time basis working 20 hours per week. This role involves working a rota which includes early shifts (starting at 7.30am), late shifts (ending at 9.30pm), every other weekend and some bank holidays, for which enhancements are paid.
As an Extra Care Support Worker, you will:
- Assist tenants with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing.
- Promote tenants’ independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering the highest standards of care.
- Adhere to and complete accurate and timely records of the care and support provided to tenants.
- Provide support to access third-party and NHS services.
- Work as part of a team and use your own initiative when required.
- Promote lifestyle choice, offering individuals the opportunity and motivation to retain independence and stay in control of their lives.
About You
Previous experience of working in care would be an advantage; however, a commitment to delivering quality care is essential and full training will be provided. This opportunity would suit someone looking to develop their career and gain hands‑on experience in a thriving and friendly environment.
