About Citizens Advice BANES
Citizens Advice Bath and North East Somerset is an independent local charity providing information and advice to residents of the BANES council area. We aim to empower people to resolve their problems and change their lives for the better. We help people overcome their problems and campaign on big issues when their voices need to be heard. We value diversity, champion equality, and challenge discrimination and harassment. We’re here for everyone in the Bath and NE Somerset area and we work in partnership with other local services to provide the best possible advice and information to meet the needs of residents. We offer information and generalist advice on any issue and specialist benefits and debt advice. We also offer specialist legal advice delivered by professionals acting on a pro bono basis. We value diversity and promote equality and would welcome applications from candidates with disabilities and ethnic minority applicants as these groups are under-represented in our workforce.
The role
We are very excited to have launched a new and innovative three-year project, funded by Macmillan Cancer Support, providing assistance to members of our community and their families who need support, beyond their medical care, as they and their families learn to live with cancer. Working alongside other stakeholders, including third sector social care partners; the Cancer Information and Support Centre at the RUH; GP surgeries across the region; Dorothy House Hospice; and our existing Wellbeing Rights Team (also funded by Macmillan), this new service supports clients holistically with the many and varied concerns that can become overwhelming, as a result of living with cancer.
Much more than just a signposting role: members of the team will work closely with clients to fully understand their needs and collaborate to co-produce a workable plan of action to address those needs identified. This will entail some research and exploration into local (or national) resources that would best meet the needs expressed by client, and involve working with other teams on behalf of clients, signposting clients to relevant resources and organizations.
Application Details:
Please visit our website for further details and application form. You must be entitled to work in the UK and appointments will be made subject to references. As you will be working with vulnerable clients in their homes, successful candidates will be required to subject to an enhanced DBS check.
