About The Team

We are an innovative Local Authority focused on therapeutic assessment and support for children. The team operates within the Care Outcomes Service and includes team managers, senior practitioners, qualified professional social workers, family support practitioners, occupational therapists and administrative staff.

About The Role

As a qualified Social Worker on the Disabled Children’s Team, you will respond to, coordinate and deliver a range of social care services for disabled children and their families in Bath and North East Somerset. You will work in partnership with colleagues across health, education and support services to respond effectively to the needs of children, young people and families.

About You

You will manage your own caseload of children and families with complex needs, analyse information, write professional assessments and reports, and present evidence verbally. You should bring strong organisational and prioritisation skills, a commitment to teamwork, and a specific interest in supporting vulnerable children.

To Apply You Will Have

  • A relevant social work qualification
  • Knowledge of the legislative framework and legal proceedings governing children’s services
  • Knowledge of theory and practice applicable to social work
  • IT skills to operate standard electronic systems
  • Passion, commitment and motivation to support vulnerable families
  • Ideally, experience of safeguarding children and/or working with children with a disability
