At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose to improve people’s lives. We are looking for a Long-term Rough Sleeping Co-ordinator to play a key role in tackling some of the most complex and entrenched experiences of rough sleeping in Bath & North East Somerset. Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Housing Service is focused on making a meaningful difference to people experiencing rough sleeping, particularly those who have been on the streets for a long time. Working in partnership with health, social care and voluntary sector organisations, the team is strengthening its approach through targeted funding to reach those facing the most complex and entrenched challenges. You’ll be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking service that values shared learning, strong partnerships and improving outcomes for individuals through more effective systems and support.

This role is centred on improving the response to long-term rough sleeping through both direct coordination and wider service development. You will work with a defined group of individuals, supporting their engagement with services and helping to create opportunities for more stable futures. Alongside this, you will play a key role in shaping how services operate by:

  • Bringing partners together to align priorities and improve pathways
  • Ensuring funding is used effectively and delivers measurable outcomes
  • Monitoring progress and using insight to inform service improvements
  • Identifying systemic barriers and leading work to address them
  • Contributing to wider housing service priorities and initiatives

The role offers a blend of hands-on work and strategic influence, giving you the opportunity to contribute to lasting improvements across the local system.

You will have experience in housing, homelessness or a related field, with a strong understanding of the complexities people face when experiencing long-term rough sleeping. You’ll be confident working with individuals with multiple and overlapping needs, using informed and sensitive approaches to build trust and support progress. You will also be comfortable working across organisations, building relationships and influencing others to achieve shared goals.
