Exciting opportunities to join our Capital Programme and Project Delivery Team. These roles represent a fantastic opportunity to be an integral part of the transformation within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and UNESCO World Heritage Spa, around Britain’s only thermal springs, within an area of outstanding natural beauty. You’ll be joining at a time when Bath and North East Somerset Council (B&NES) is undertaking a period of significant capital investment, across a range of challenging projects, throughout our unique and diverse property and asset portfolio. The Capital Construction Programme is shaping the long‑term sustainability of housing, public spaces, social, historic, environmental and economic landscape of the area, as well as facilitating income‑generating initiatives.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

We are seeking experienced Project Managers with a proven track record in delivering a diverse programme of major or technically complex construction projects from feasibility and technical design, through to construction and end‑user handover. Candidates should have strong technical knowledge of design, contract management, planning and technical construction‑based project management.

About Us: You will be joining a friendly, experienced, and supportive Programme and Construction Project Management Team who collectively work across a diverse portfolio of projects from Highways (Public Realm), Corporate and Commercial Estates, Housing and Compliance Maintenance with a combined project value in excess of £200m. This includes the retrofit of many of our 1,100 properties as well as delivery of sustainable transport/neighbourhoods, public realm and new build projects, to achieve net‑zero by 2030. Working as part of the wider Sustainable Communities team, which also has responsibility for Planning, Heritage Services, Housing, Transport Strategy, Public Realm, and Corporate Estate, you will need to be a team player with excellent stakeholder and relevant design and construction project management skills.

Location & Working Arrangements

Whilst the office base will be Keynsham Civic Centre, easily accessible via car or public transport, we offer flexible working, including home working for which IT equipment will be provided, and we are open‑minded in structuring working arrangements to suit the right candidates.
