Bath & North East Somerset Council offers a three‑year apprenticeship in the Management Accounts team within the Finance Department.
About the Team
- Provide financial and resource management support for a wide range of council services, including Education, Social Care, Safeguarding, Commissioning, Public Health, Green Transformation, Sustainability, Commercial, Finance, Legal, Development, Environment and Partnership Services.
- Promote the efficient and effective use of resources through proactive financial and resource management advice.
- Deliver comprehensive financial services such as accounting, budgeting, analysis, financial systems, and financial administration.
- Offer financial advice to the Council Executive, Overview & Scrutiny and senior management on behalf of the mandatory obligation (mandated by section 151).
- Attend management meetings.
About the Role
The apprenticeship lasts three years and will include mandatory AAT training provided by an accredited training provider. In the first year, business administration tasks may also be incorporated. As the apprenticeship progresses, the apprentice will take on more specialised and technical finance functions, ultimately specialising in Finance.
