In this role, you will guide apprentices through their journey in the classroom, workshop, and workplace and influence their confidence and future careers. As an Electrical Installation Trainer/Assessor at Bath College, you will deliver high-quality apprenticeship programmes to meet employer needs and End-Point Assessment requirements.

  • You will manage a group of electrical apprentices, helping them gain the knowledge and skills required to achieve a pass, merit, or distinction.
  • You will also work with curriculum staff and the Apprenticeship Team to deliver a structured programme that aligns with industry standards.

About Bath College

Bath College is a successful, leading FE provider in Somerset, with campuses in central Bath and Radstock. We pride ourselves on providing training for the region’s future workforce by offering courses in both vocational and traditional academic subjects to students from across Bath, Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire and beyond.

Hours

Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Mon-Thu 8:30 - 17:00 and Fri 8:30-16:30 with an hour unpaid lunch. (Part-Time hours may be available)

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver induction, training, coaching, and assessment to apprentices across electrical installation disciplines.
  • Support apprentices in college and the workplace, so they remain on track with their learning plans.
  • Conduct on-site assessments and complete 12-week reviews for your apprentices.
  • Provide clear guidance, feedback, and support to help apprentices develop professionally.
  • Respond to queries and provide supervision when apprentices are working independently.
  • Contribute to promotional and marketing activities that support the growth of the apprenticeships provision.
  • Undertake initial assessment and assist with individual action planning to set apprentices on the right path.

What You Bring

  • You will thrive in this role if you enjoy combining your electrical expertise with hands-on support for learners.
  • You should bring Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade B or above.
  • A nationally recognised qualification at Level 3 or above in an electrical discipline.
  • 18th Edition, 2nd Amendment qualification.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for employer visits.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and support apprentices.
  • Confidence working independently while also contributing to a team.
