Join a psychology-led service where your expertise is valued!

Bath and North East Somerset Educational Psychology Service is looking for enthusiastic, reflective and committed educational psychologists to join our highly regarded team.

We are delighted to be recruiting to both a Senior Educational Psychologist post and Educational Psychologist posts, offering exciting opportunities to contribute to a service where psychology genuinely sits at the heart of everything we do. Our strong culture of collaboration, professional trust and reflective practice enables educational psychologists to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children, young people, families, education settings and wider systems.

Whether you are looking for your first post as a qualified educational psychologist, seeking a new challenge as an experienced practitioner, or ready to step into a new senior leadership position, we would love to hear from you.

A service where people choose to stay!

One of the greatest strengths of our service is the people who make up our team.

We are proud of our strong retention record and the positive professional culture we have built together. Colleagues consistently tell us that they value the supportive nature of the team, the opportunities for professional development, the quality of supervision and the genuine commitment to wellbeing and work-life balance.

We are a team of reflective practitioners who enjoy thinking together, learning from one another and applying psychology creatively to complex situations. Reflective practice is not something we simply talk about, it is embedded across our everyday work through regular supervision, peer consultation and collaborative problem solving.

A service with influence and ambition!

As educational psychologists within Bath and North East Somerset, we apply psychology at individual, group, organisational and strategic levels. Alongside meeting statutory responsibilities, we contribute to consultation, training, supervision, early intervention and service development work across the local area.

We work closely with other teams, including the Inclusion and SEND Advice Service, the Virtual School and a range of multi‑agency partners, creating opportunities to influence practice and outcomes well beyond individual casework. Our Educational Psychology Service is highly respected locally and has a strong reputation for delivering high‑quality work and building positive relationships with families and education settings.

Senior Educational Psychologist

Our Senior Educational Psychologist post offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced EP to contribute to the strategic development of the service whilst maintaining a strong connection to practice.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting service development, line managing and supervising colleagues, leading areas of work and contributing to the continuing development of innovative practice across the service. We are looking for a psychologist with excellent interpersonal skills, strong professional credibility and a passion for applying psychology to create positive change at both individual and systemic levels.

This role offers the opportunity to influence the future direction of a robust and value‑led service as part of a supportive and collaborative senior leadership team.

Educational Psychologist

We believe Educational Psychologists do their best work when they can bring their interests, creativity and expertise to their role.

Alongside core service delivery, including statutory work, colleagues have opportunities to contribute to project work, training, supervision and the development of the local area’s Experts at Hand offer. This work enables Educational Psychologists to develop and share specialist expertise and extend the reach of psychology across education settings and the local area through innovative, evidence‑informed approaches.

We actively encourage new ideas and provide opportunities for colleagues to shape both their own professional development and the future direction of the service.
