Youth Connect South West (YCSW) was launched as a Public Service Mutual, limited company, and registered charity in the South West of England in November 2019 to provide a range of services primarily for the young people in the Bath and North East Somerset area.
This role is to identify, engage, and support Young People at high risk of becoming NEET (HRN) or young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) to enable them to overcome barriers, build confidence, and progress into suitable and sustainable destinations. The role provides tailored one-to-one coaching, employer engagement, and transition support in collaboration with employers, training providers, and specialist services.
Responsibilities- Identification & Engagement: Work with the Local Authority, schools/colleges, and partner agencies to identify and engage YP at risk of becoming NEET or who are NEET. Establish strong, supportive relationships with young people and their families to encourage participation.
- One-to-One Careers Coaching: Deliver personalised one-to-one careers guidance and coaching, including development of tailored action plans. Support young people to identify strengths, skills, and aspirations while addressing barriers to progression.
- Work Experience & Employer Engagement: Organise and facilitate employer engagement activities including mock interviews, workplace visits, and placements. Develop employer links and partnerships to create meaningful opportunities for young people. Tailor experiences of work to individual needs and future career goals.
- Specialist & Individualised Support: Engage external and specialist services to reduce barriers (e.g., confidence, wellbeing, housing, SEND). Provide targeted support around CEIAG and confidence building.
- Transition & Progression Support: Provide ongoing individualised support for up to 6 months during young people’s transition to EETV destinations. Monitor progress and offer interventions to ensure sustained engagement in education, training, employment, or volunteering.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track outputs and outcomes in line with project requirements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Use feedback and evaluation tools to evidence improvements in resilience, confidence, awareness of opportunities, and sustained progression.
